This holiday season AIC/SAIC will again host a food drive to support GCFD’s effort to feed those in need within the community. Let’s see if we can help even more people this year with our generosity. The food drive will run from November 7th through November 18th. Please join us in this great cause. Any contribution will be very much appreciated by those in need!
Listed food items that are most needed for the drive: Whole grain cereal, Beans, Rice, Canned, meat, Pasta, Stew, Pasta Sauce, Soup, Mac and Cheese, Canned Vegetables, Peanut Butter, Canned Fruit, Jelly, Shelf-Stable Milk
Collection boxes will be placed near the employee entrances of all buildings, as well as the entrances to the student residence halls. For your convenience, donations can be dropped off at any time. Please be sure to check expiration dates of items before donating.
If you are not able to bring food to our collection sites, please drop off your donations at the many participating local grocery stores and businesses. In addition to food donations, GCFD is looking for volunteers and, of course, will take direct financial contributions. To learn more about GCFD programs, click the following link: http://www.chicagosfoodbank.org.
If you have questions about the food drive, please contact Jevoid Simmons (9-3380) or Pomi Assefa (9-3378) in Human Resources.
Thanks in advance for your participation in this very important effort to help to feed the hungry of our communities.
