I hear rumors that if you attend SAIC you won't really find friends. Is this true?

Friend-finding is a really subjective adventure; everyone will experience it differently.  Orientation and many of the beginning of the year events are established so that people can meet one another.  Classes are also great ways to meet your peers.  If you’re interested in finding more intimate spaces for hanging out, join student groups that are geared towards your interests.  If there isn’t a student group for your interest, you can create one.  The residence halls are also known for socializing especially in the first year.  The more you participate and talk to other people, the more likely you are to find friends within the school.  Also, first year students talk on facebook a ton, so join the SAIC ‘16 or whatever your estimated graduation year is, and you’ll see people posting about music, openings, and other events.
